Long exposures of bugs under a street light.
Awesome.

Awesome.
I just finished some minor tweaks and rendered out an old Animation Mentor assignment.
I’ll put it in the portfolio section soon, along with some drawings I haven’t had time to scan yet. Maybe if you’re real nice I’ll put them up here too.
Maybe.
I just uploaded an old Animation Mentor assignment after a bit of tweaking and rendering. I kind of forgot how much I enjoy 3D work. It can be a long and arduous process, but the results are usually very satisfying.
I’ll be uploading a few more AM exercises over the next week or so, so keep an eye out. Additionally, I’m working on a new acting/lipsync 3D exercise, so uh, keep an eye out for that too. The other eye, I guess.
Ramsey Ess is a friend of a friend of mine; or mathematically, a friend to the second power. Despite the fact I don’t think he really knows who I am, I bleed for this man. I breathe for this man. I link for this man.
Which is why I am ever so delighted to link you to a bit of funny business he wrote for a recent UCB performance, Dad Who is a Ghost.

I just rewatched this video a couple hours ago and thought I should share it here. I think it’s amazing, beautiful, awesome, most any positive word you can think of. Very inspiring, to me anyway.

It was also the first thing that really got me to notice Animal Collective, and they are pretty great. Also just my opinion.
Going along with yesterday’s post of Jobs Schmobs, here is another Bomb the Music Industry! video, an acoustic performance of Sadder, Weirder.
Bomb The Music Industry – Sadder Weirder from If You Make It on Vimeo.
Fun stuff. It’s hosted by If You Make It, a site full of free albums, live perfomances and more. Check them out.
New site, new video! Go check out Jobs Schmobs, an independent music video for the song by the same name by Bomb the Music Industry!
I’m really happy with this one. I wanted to try something a bit different than my last few projects. I had the idea of a stroboscopic image montage bordering on live action animation for about a year and just snapped footage wherever I happened to be. It was a great compositing exercise and I learned a hell of a lot (namely, your regularly screaming rig can slow to a crawl when dealing with hundreds or thousands of 3072 x 2304 images). Oh yeah, that’s right, first HD project! I now join the ranks of the bleeding edge of 2004.
If possible, try to watch it fullscreen in HD. Loud. Listen to / watch it how it was supposed to be heard / seen: loudly.
