Wow, I haven’t heard anything from Dan Deacon in ages, but his newish album Bromst is amazing. Yeah I’m a bit late to the party, but… well I don’t have a good excuse for that. Regardless, check out the first track, build voice, all the way through to see what I mean.
Gotta love that build.
While we’re talking about great first tracks of great albums, check out And the Hazy Sea from Cymbals Eat Guitars‘ album Why There Are Mountains.
I guess I’m just a sucker for that epic sound. It’s soooo eeeeeeeepiiiiicccccc. Eeeeeeeeeeppppiiiiiccccccc.
I just rewatched this video a couple hours ago and thought I should share it here. I think it’s amazing, beautiful, awesome, most any positive word you can think of. Very inspiring, to me anyway.
New site, new video! Go check out Jobs Schmobs, an independent music video for the song by the same name by Bomb the Music Industry!
I’m really happy with this one. I wanted to try something a bit different than my last few projects. I had the idea of a stroboscopic image montage bordering on live action animation for about a year and just snapped footage wherever I happened to be. It was a great compositing exercise and I learned a hell of a lot (namely, your regularly screaming rig can slow to a crawl when dealing with hundreds or thousands of 3072 x 2304 images). Oh yeah, that’s right, first HD project! I now join the ranks of the bleeding edge of 2004.
If possible, try to watch it fullscreen in HD. Loud. Listen to / watch it how it was supposed to be heard / seen: loudly.
